Purpose and Vision of the Winter Youth Retreat Ministry
Recognizing and affirming the great value God places on youth, the Winter Youth Retreat exists for these reasons:
- To train today’s youth to be godly examples.
- To challenge today’s youth to know Jesus Christ, not just know about Him.
- To inspire a desire in today’s youth to be conformed to the image of God’s Son.
- To provide today’s youth with a Biblical perspective in facing the challenges of living in today’s culture.
As a ministry dedicated to serving today’s youth, the Winter Youth Retreat values:
- Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as Lord and Savior above all else.
- The authority and inerrancy of the Bible, God’s Holy Word.
- The role of the local church in providing support and encouragement for young people to grow and serve.
- The critical role mentoring plays in the daily Christian walk of today’s youth.
- The necessity of developing and executing a program that is both honorable and professional in appearance and delivery.
- An annual theme that meets “the crying needs of the hour” by remaining culturally relevant and Biblically grounded.
- Programs and policies that are appropriate for young adults ages 16 and up.
- The importance of fellowship and fun as integral to the Retreat experience.
